The New Artist Showcase

The Singers & Musicians Conference (SMC) Showcase is a great opportunity for unsigned artists to gain exposure and receive feedback from a panel of industry experts. Please note that registration for this year’s conference is required and should be sent with your SMC Showcase Submission. The submission deadline is September 17, 2010. All entrants are required to participate in the preliminary New Artist Showcase which will take place Friday September 24, 2010 at 2:30PM. Please be prepared to minister for 1 minute and 30 seconds before our guest panel. The top 15 participants will move on to Saturday’s final New Artist Showcase.

Entrants’ materials will be evaluated on various characteristics, including, but not limited to: expression, cohesiveness, tone, pitch, blend, song selection and presentation of submission. The same characteristics will be evaluated by a panel of industry experts during the showcase and will determine the recipients of the Best Artist awards. Original material should be copyrighted for your own protection. Eligible submissions must consist of the following items:

  • Completed Singers & Musicians Conference Registration form and fee
  • 1-2 Songs/Performances - Vocalists on CD/Dancers on DVD, labeled with name of artist
  • Biography - Enclose printed copy with submission. Selected submission will need to email electronic copy at a later date.
  • Picture - 5X7 or larger.
  • Completed Showcase Entry Form (found below). Please make sure that contact information entered is legible and accurate.
  • Showcase Fee (see form below)
