Thomas Frink

Tom Frink is a multifaceted musician. As a student at Umass, Amherst he studied classical saxophone with Lynn Klock, jazz improvisation with Adam Kolker and Paul Lieberman, and arranging with Jeffrey Holmes and Catherine Jensen-Hole.

As a performer, he has played with groups in Western Massachusetts such as the Amherst Orchestra and his own band, The Context, as well as at events like the HCC Jazz Festival and the Maplewind Jazz and Blues Festival.

As a teacher, Thomas has had students continue beyond his own instruction into music programs at Umass Lowell and Plymouth State University. In addition to teaching saxophone and clarinet, Thomas has taught jazz improvisation for other instruments and is currently developing a personal curriculum that borrows from contemporary poetry analysis.
